The International Association of People Affected by Lipodystrophies and Their Relatives (AELIP) is launching the “Lipodystrophy with a History” Project, with the goal of bringing visibility to the people living with this disease.
The programme intends to shed light on the reality and day-to-day lives of the people of the world living with a form of lipodystrophy, giving them a voice so that they can share their story.
To implement this idea, a section titled “Lipodystrophy with a History” will be prepared for the AELIP website, www.aelip.es, and interviews of people and families affected by lipodystrophies will be carried out.The group of people affected and their relatives will be revitalised in order to increase their participation.
Those interested in participating in the programme should fill out the online form with their contact information, indicating their express consent to participate in the programme and to allow AELIP to include their interviews on the website and in their newsletter.
The interviews will include a brief history of the person affected, a series of questions related to the health sector, the socialsector, etc., and an explanation of the person’s link to AELIP and what the organisation representsfor them.
AELIP considers it vitally important to raise awareness of the reality of lipodystrophy diseases, and with this initiative it aims to help those who know first-hand what these diseases mean to approach others and make them aware through a programme and in a space that enables people to share experiences and to get to know those affected all over the world a bit better.
