Dr Fernando Corvillo Rodríguez has joined the Advisory Committee for the International Association of Families and People Affected by Lipodystrophy (AELIP).
Dr Rodríquez received his Bachelor’s degree in biology at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2012, before also receiving his Master’s degree specialising in immunological research at the same institution. He was awarded his PhD in molecular bioscience from the Autonomous University of Madrid in 2018.
He is currently lead researcher in a lipodystrophy research project at the Hospital La Paz Institute for Health Biomedical Research.
The AELIP Advisory Committee, which is currently made up of 6 professional members, is a tool made available to users for medical consultation about lipodystrophies.
Members of the Committee for Rare Lipodystrophies are medical practitioners and/or scientists who work in the field of health science. Their work and research are on the front line of rare lipodystrophies.
Any professional who wishes to be a member of the AELIP’s Lipodystrophy Advisory Committee must meet a number of criteria: You must: be a doctor/ biologist/ biochemist/ pharmacist/ psychologist; be working in lipodystrophy-related projects financed by public agencies or private entities; and have produced at least 2 publications on lipodystrophy in medical journals with an accumulated impact factor no less than 3.
