The AECID is the main management body of the Spanish Organization. Its line of action is to promote human development in all its exercise at an international level, conceived as a fundamental right.
The Spanish Agency collaborates with the granting of public aid to these organizations, which work in more than 100 countries in developing action plans for the defense of human rights, strengthening democracy, inclusive growth and assistance to countries affected by emergencies.
The International Association of Families and People Affected by Lipodystrophy (AELIP) is part of this framework, as a non-governmental organization for development (ONGD). AELIP has been developing international cooperation activities for some time, such as the project it is carrying out in Piura (Peru), social and scientific research in Latin America, as well as training webinars for professionals and families, among which the one held last June in Peru stands out. Its latest contribution to development and research has been to launch the first study on quality of life in families and people affected by lipodystrophies.
In order to carry out the projects, the NGDOs collaborate with local private organizations, as well as with public administrations in the developing country.
These organizations do not only operate in developing countries, but they also carry out their work in our country, through initiatives to raise awareness about development or social action actions.
