The Orphan Drugs and Rare Diseases Foundation (MEHUER), which is chaired by Manuel Pérez and forms part of the Royal and Distinguished Official College of Pharmacists in Seville, agrees to name one of its research grants after Celia Carrión Pérez de Tudela.
The institution decided to name one of the two extraordinary grants that it awards related to the research of orphan drugs and rare diseases afterCelia Carrión Pérez de Tudeladue to the legacy that this girl from Totana has left and all that she has contributed to the field of rare diseases.
Recently, the president of the International Association of People Affected by Lipodystrophies and Their Relatives (AELIP), Naca Eulalia Pérez de Tudela, and the vice president, Juan Carrión—Celia’s parents—were able to express their gratitude for this naming,which is highly relevant because it emphasises the importance of research in improving the future of people living with rare diseases.
