The International Association of Families and People Affected by Lipodystrophies will have the collaboration of Carlos Manuel Del Águila Villar, pediatric endocrinologist, among its committee of experts.
Doctor of Medicine from the University of San Martín de Porres, he graduated in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos and the Universidad Nacional Federico Villareal respectively. He also holds a master's degree in nutrition from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos.
He is currently head of the Endocrinology and Metabolism Service of the National Institute of Child Health.
Dr. Carlos Del Águila has a long career that began in 1982 and continues today. He is a medical doctor graduated from the Federico Villarreal National University and since 2013 he has been a professor of the Postgraduate Course in Management and Teaching of Food and Nutrition at the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences.
In the field of research he has more than fifty studies related to the disease of diabetes in children and young people and is the author or co-author of nine treaties, such as Pediatric Nutrition in Peru. In: History of Health in Peru. F. Sanchez Moreno (2001); Manual de Diagnóstico y Tratamiento del Hipotiroidismo. Ed Merck 2014 or Reference patterns in the assessment of child growth. 2015
Carlos Del Aguila is also a member of the Peruvian Association of Obesity and Atherosclerosis, the Peruvian Society of Pediatrics (SPP) and the Endocrine Society USA, in others.
With this new incorporation the committee of experts of AELIP counts for the first time with a professional from Peru giving more prestige to this resource that AELIP implements to improve the quality of life of the people and families that live with a Lipodystrophy in the world.
