AELIP participated in the VIII Ibero-American Meeting on Rare Diseases organised by ALIBER

The International Association of Relatives and People Affected by Lipodystrophies, AELIP, participated in the VIII Ibero-American Meeting on Rare Diseases organised by ALIBER.

The VIII Ibero-American Meeting on Rare, Orphan or Infrequent Diseases allowed for three days of interaction, knowledge sharing, successful experiences and common learning, through the 9 round tables of the event.

More than 50 speakers shared their knowledge to improve the future of people and families living with a Rare, Orphan or Uncommon Disease in Ibero-America, to the more than 800 participants who were able to follow the event live in 17 countries during the three days.

ALIBER's challenge was to consolidate this training framework in its eighth edition and to ensure that the values that defined it in 2013 to give shape to this Alliance were still very much present; to this end, it was proposed to share knowledge, good practices, exchange the experiences of the different professionals and researchers from the different countries of Ibero-America and seek solutions and answers to the needs of people and families living with these Rare, Orphan or Infrequent Diseases.

ALIBER President Juan Carrión Tudela wanted to thank the moderators of the 9 tables and the ALIBER technical team made up of Estrella Guerrero Solana, Alba Ancochea and Alicia María Males Henao, for their dedication, accompaniment and tireless work on this beautiful project; the volunteers supporting the Meeting: Fide Mirón and Inés Castellanos, as well as the Secretary of Health of Cali, represented by Solanyi Mosquera and her team: John Fernando Pineda, Willy Mares and Juliana Ramirez whose technical support, time, charisma and good work was essential for everything to go as smoothly as possible, and to La Asociación Colombiana de Pacientes con Enfermedades de Depósito Lisosomal - ACOPEL, for broadcasting the three days of the Encounter through their YouTube channel.
