The International Association of Families and People Affected by Lipodystrophy (AELIP) has signed a collaboration agreement with the Foundation Institute for Health Research of Santiago de Compostela (FIDIS).
FIDIS is a non-profit organization that aims to promote research, teaching, scientific-technological development and innovation in the field of health and health sciences. By virtue of this agreement, AELIP has committed to making a contribution of 33,600 euros to finance the research project coordinated and directed by David Araújo at the Thyroid and Metabolic Diseases Unit - Lipodystrophy Unit of the Singular Centre for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases (CIMUS) of the University of Santiago de Compostela.
The team led by Professor Araújo follows several lines of research, one of which is the phenotypic characterization of the KI mouse of Celia encephalopathy and therapeutic approach (2019-2021), financed by the Carlos III Health Institute and AELIP, the latter entity providing 33,600 euros.
