The International Association of Relatives and Affected of Lipodystrophies AELIP, participated last 27th of January in Porto, in the Lipodystrophies Meeting organised by the Portuguese Society of Endocrinology and addressed to health professionals, researchers, representatives of the pharmaceutical industry, families and people affected by Lipodystrophy.
The meeting included several international speakers such as Dr. Araujo Vilar, a leading professional and expert in the field in Spain and Europe, and Dr. Camile Vatier from St. Antoine Hospital in Paris (France).
On a national level, the reference doctor and president of the Portuguese society Doña Paula Freitas intervened as well as other reference professionals in the Portuguese country such as Dr. Ermelinda Santos and Dr. Paula Bogalho, both with experience in the management of the pathology and who also follow patients with lipodystrophy.
The meeting also counted with the testimonies of affected people from Portugal and Spain as well as the participation of the AELIP delegation in Portugal and the intervention of Naca Perez de Tudela as president of AELIP.
AELIP was represented at the meeting by Naca Perez de Tudela, President of AELIP, Roció Perez, member of the Board of Directors of AELIP and Maria Fernanda de Amorim, member of the Board of Directors and Delegate of AELIP in Portugal.
